[IHPVA-board-formal] google groups

I am thinking of moving the remaining 2 mailing lists
(ihpva-board-formal and ihpva) too Google Groups. Does anyone here
object? The advantage for me is that I won't have to try to set up
full spam filtering on the current IHPVA server, and spam passing
through that system is currently torrential.

I would move the IHPVA list over by invitation (the current members
would receive an invitation to join so they can decide if they want
to). I would move the IHPVA-board-formal subscription list as-is (no
invitation) which is why I am asking for your permission this way.

One or two people on the other former IHPVA lists objected which is
why they moved to BikeList.org instead of Google Groups.

The objection is based on the fact that you pretty much get railroaded
into having a Google account to use Google Groups and some people are
afraid that Google is watching them.
